What do you want to see in this world?
Man, there’s a plethora of ways to slice it. A lot DO look at the burnt side of the tree - looking for reasons to scream THE SKY IS FALLING - like Chicken Little (don’t be another Chicken Little). I suppose there is validity here; there undoubtedly are a lot of problems. I understand.
However, the world (to me) remains wide open. There is truth to “it is what you make of it.” I prefer this lantern-consciousness view, because it invites (patiently) more action, movement, and creativity. It keeps the sky open and beautiful, instead of falling on our faces with the unbearable weight of the world.
Perspective Clears:
We are truly blessed with the gift of perspective; we are able to adjust it and curate it to our liking. When we put mindfulness into matter, we can bend the world to our aura - and attract others along the way who share the same vision.
It can be difficult to do so when there is pressure (time, responsibility) weighing on our shoulders. Regardless, we can clean our room, refresh, and update our software.
When we “refresh our software,” opening our life’s view, answers come through - the clues to our individual “scavenger hunt of life.” This is what God wants from each and every one of us. Yes, EVERYONE. Social media and industry try to paint us like cattle in a cage - this is a fallacy and must be rejected.
Let Go of Old:
God works in mysterious ways - sometimes even deteriorating those “old” and “used up” things we once cherished. Some can be bitter about this (living in the past), but dig deeper, push further - it is actually a blessing. It may just be a call to grow and become the best version of you…
For my fiancée, Molly, and me, this rings true for our Red River mountain refuge. After the tragic passing of my father, Steve, we found home here. With my corporate remote job running with ease, and Molly serving at Sundance, providing a solid income paired with the peaceful outdoors, one could say - THIS IS IT! Forever home, found - done!

Open Space for New:
However, there was an offsetting feeling sounding off - the discomfort that we are meant for so much more than an isolated mountain couple lifestyle. We both felt called for more.
This cacophony felt within our household could not be silenced, as it came from a place of deep truth, rooted in the awaiting manifestations “on the other side.”
My big brother and beloved basketball mentor, Jason Parker, told me to “keep praying, and you will know what to do,” when I asked him what the next growth opportunity was for me here. He graciously shared his story for greater context (again - perspective - is huge)!
This was 2024, not long after Dad left us (too soon). Jason, a true leader (and facilitator of God’s grace) - was right… One more high note about Jason - he said a prayer with me the last time we met, years ago, in the parking lot outside a Starbucks. This has inspired me to not be afraid to share the goodness of God with others - to lean in and share this energy with all who are ready…

By 2025, I scribed a draft (50 pages, if you can call that a draft) for a book called “Desire Theory.” You probably hear a lot of the “GO GET IT” tones in my writing - well yeah, it started in a Microsoft Word document on a whim.
By 2026, here I am writing to you now, and only really getting the wheels turning. Through more authentic life experiences, openings in the universe, showing a taste of “the other side,” it became clear that I am a writer - called to leave this mountain refuge and share our gifts with the greater world.
Stay open always, listen deeply, keep moving (most important part here)! Try new things and share them - watch the flowers start to blossom.

Exciting News/BIG Update:
I want to genuinely express waterfalls of gratitude for every reader here - it is FOR YOU that I do this!
On that note, we (Molly and I) are feeling called to a higher space to share our gifts with others.
We are starting a kava truck + newsletter holding company - in Tulsa, Oklahoma (my hometown) in 2027.
To come here and share this - it has been a difficult decision to say the least! We love New Mexico so much (will be getting married here next summer) - and literally fell in love here.
Every piece of me (and us) worked to build an events-focused/community newsletter here and grow it to every rock, canyon, river, and tree here (along with every person too)!
But the reality is, we have our roots in Oklahoma and the Midwest. Our family, friends, and support system are all there awaiting our return. Additionally - Tulsa is in dire need of “good vibes” without alcohol (or weed) - and kava does exactly that.
The vision is clear and most impactful - in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

As for now, no worries - Cholla At Me will continue as it has - but looking ahead, (exciting) changes are in the works.
Findings:
Fly fishing is a GO! I caught 7 rainbow trout this weekend! And thanks to great family and support, I can now tie flies too. Wow, does time fly! :)
I never thought I’d get this down so quickly. It’s funny how in our minds we can create such huge mountains to climb - when in reality, they may just be a little baby hill - a couple of strong steps and we are over that hump.
