Pebbles of Time - Memories to be Shared

We humans are so incredible that we cannot even keep up with the good (and sometimes necessary bad) times we have. Life truly moves fast (always has) and even more now! We are built with a robust fluidity and so deeply alive layered with plethoras of moving parts that our memories (and most importantly - life lessons) can fade quickly. This is because we are built to always be creating new ones.

Think about it - we love to hear the “updates” even basic things like "how are the kids” type questions with our families, friends, and co-workers. We want to constantly know and be informed on “what’s next” and where we are going from here. “Uncs” and grandpa’s are great, but after a while if the conversation is always “back in my day” we begin to lose interest and even can struggle to listen as it feels like a hamster wheel going on and on… yet never actually moving forward. This is also tied to another real motto: trust movement over everything.

This is why we need good people around us -

To experience with (creating new)

To share with (spreading positive/uplifting energy)

To inspire next moves (future abundance)

Through this process… the energy shared snaps back; boosting anything we have going - our work, creativity, activity - ultimately our ability to build ANYTHING to LAST.

As well as people, movement (there’s that word again!) is absolutely key to continue this generation of new thoughts, ideas, and even , yes - memories too.

Remember, the actual mover and shaker here are the (seemingly, yet not really) “little memories” sparked by how again…? You already know by now - movement baby!

SEA Story:

For example, as me and my brother Blake got scuba certified in Ao Nang, Thailand (on a whim, I might add 🙂 ), and to finish the training I had to clear the water completely from my goggles after taking it off about ~20 feet underwater. Here is where I experienced my first real panic/anxiety attack. Yikes! I drank water through my nose (as my goggles were off) and completely lost it, couldn’t clear the goggles, and started frantically paddling upwards to get to the surface. It happened soo fast in fact, Blake didn’t know where me (and instructor Carlita) went - he spent a couple minutes trying to find us!

After this, I’m hella uncomfortable, scared and shook, and negatively influencing my thoughts to straight up QUIT after doing a course already, swimming pool training, and previous 3 open-water dives. However, I found peace within by resetting, re-focusing, self-affirming, and pushing through any irrational fears of “I can’t do this” (which of course, I did - because our minds can be our biggest limiter, and there is more strength beyond our thoughts).

This whole debacle was (sort of) a scene and everyone on the boat was concerned and offering support that I was okay. Blake was very aware of this too - as he has dealt with anxiety too - and thus sees another side of me dealing with this frantic energy. Through this, a new episode of life lights up and is created!

Through this “pebble of time” - an experience between me and brother Blake is curated and solidifies our spontaneous diving adventures. It may not be a “core” memory, but it’s this that made the final dive for certification so special (indeed - as we went for 2 more dives a week later)!

This is how life works. Always be on the hunt for the next adventure, the next way to be as human as possible (but I don’t recommend drinking sea water, that shit hurts)! Enjoy my friends, it’s quite the special (and unique) place we get to call home, here on Earth.

Weekly Prompt (Like Lifting Weights, but for your brain):

When was the last time you had an intense experience leading to “mental shutdown” (fight or flight)? What did you do, how did you handle it, and where did it originate from? Anything you learned?

Doesn’t matter if you shutdown or “lost the battle” there is always lessons within any experience.
